3 New ROVs sold in Australia

23/2/2014

The Beginning of 2014 saw 3 new Seamor Advanced ROVs entering Australia.

David Barry from Aqualift was the first to receive the all newly designed 300 T "ATOM". David and the guys and girls from Aqualift travel throughout the East Coast of Australia inspecting and cleaning Potable water tanks. They required an ROV that was robust and reliable as they spend most of the year on the road. David particularly appreciated the open modular design of the Seamor ROVs, where individual modules can be quickly and easily swapped out even on site if required, which minimised downtime. The quality of the Seamor Sony camera, and the ability to capture still images at the same time as recording the high quality video was another selling point, as these could then be easily incorporated into the online reporting database that Aqualift has designed.

Michael and Simon Wright also purchased and took delivery of 2 Seamor ROVs for their new business "Wrighteye Industries". The Father and Son team purchased a high definition 300F ROV as well as a 300T "ATOM". Simon is an accomplished work class ROV Pilot and technician and immediately saw the benefit of the industrial robustness of the Seamor ROVs, coupled with the quality of the Sony camera, and responsiveness of the ROV thrusters.

The guys have already made an impression with the local councils in the state of Victoria, and are finding new and innovative solutions to the problems that they are presented with by governments and private businesses alike. Having the option of 2 different ROVs enable the Wright's to tackle a wide range of underwater projects, and the ability to upgrade the Seamor ROVs at any stage means that they can expand their capability in the future without having to repurchase ROVs.

ROV Innovations will be exhibiting at Australia’s largest oil and gas event, the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) from 19-21 February.

Largest event of its kind
With a record number of international exhibitors, this year’s event will be the biggest yet, expanding to Level 2 of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre for the first time.
Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition & Conference
Over three huge days, visitors will discover the latest products and services from ROV Innovations and more than 550 exhibitors from 20 countries showcasing the innovations in oil and gas technology, covering the full spectrum of the industry from exploration and production technology to gas processing, pipelines, offshore services, engineering, design and construction.

Conference transformed
Away from the bustling exhibition floor, the AOG conference will tackle the latest issues facing the oil and gas industry in an expanded program comprising fifteen streams and a series of high-profile local and international speakers.

One of the most eagerly anticipated sessions, the Plenary stream, will bring together some of the industry’s leading figures, including Minister for Commerce, Hon. Bill Marmion, Chevron Australia’s General Manager Gerry Flaherty and Shell’s Country Chair Australia, Andrew Smith.

The merging of the Subsea Australasia Conference with the AOG Conference will give delegates access to more content and a greater range of sessions with subsea streams incorporated.

Networking and social events
AOG 2014 will offer a host of social events and networking areas for visitors to develop and strengthen business relationships. The impressive range of social functions at this year’s AOG includes the sell-out AOG Opening Party and Official AOG Dinner, each offering a night of great food, drinks and entertainment. Dinner attendees will also have the chance to win a signed Manchester United jersey in the raffle on the night thanks to Aurecon.

New to the line-up are the Subsea Welcome Drinks and the Safety Outcomes breakfast hosted by the Safety Institute of Australia (S.I.A) and IFAP (Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention) with a panel of guests from Woodside Energy, Curtin University and Chevron Australia.

Throughout the event there will also be a range of food and refreshments available onsite, including the popular Schenker Australia Bratwurst Bar, Matrix Oyster Bar, Murphy Pipe and Civil Juice Bar and, new for 2014, paella being served at the Skilled Offshore Subsea Bar.

Another first for the exhibition is The Den, a new area located on Level 2 with entertainment, free food and beverages. You’ll also have the chance to win big with prizes valued at over $30,000, including $10,000 cash. To enter the draw simply show up at The Den and have your pass scanned for a chance to win!
