This is some recent footage from Flying Fish Cove at #ChristmasIsland. We were completing some #underwater #surveysof the area at depths between 75 and 110 meters around the stern mooring buoy in August 2018. Always great to see the range of #marinelife at these depths. Thanks to Dave Robertson from CI Ports, Wayne Angus and the CI Stevedores for all their help.

ECA Roving Bat for UWILD in ROV Planet Magazine

ECA's hybrid ROV/Crawler, the Roving Bat has just been featured in the latest edition of ROV Planet magazine (http://www.rovplanet.com/content/magazine).

The article is shown below, which highlights the benefits of using this unique Hybrid in completing all of the UWILD (Underwater Inspection In Lieu of Dry Dock) specifications including cleaning of hulls, close visual inspections and NDT for weld thickness.

According to Daniel Schmidt, Chairman of Petrus Group, who has been evaluating the Roving Bat for the past 6 months on site -

"We particularly appreciated the vehicle efficiency in terms of hull cleaning : we can quote that, including the ROV positioning on the selected spot, the cleaning of marine growths and the thickness measurement: the performance of this hybrid ROV is far above what you can achieve with divers.

In conclusion, I assess that Roving Bat is technically the best equipment currently available on the market for hull inspection’’
