Complete Inspection of your Bridge
ROV Innovations are one of the only companies within Australia that can completely inspect all aspects of bridges, regardless of the underwater conditions. We have the ability, equipment, and staff to complete detailed underwater bridge inspections visually with our High Definition ROV, via high resolution scanning sonar, and we can also complete non destructive tests via our commercial dive team.
For a complete package, we can also complete the aerial component of the bridge inspection with one of our many aerial UAVs (or drones). The aerial footage can be recorded in high definition (1080p) or Ultra High Definition (4K) for increased confidence. 3D models can also be generated for each bridge allowing the data to be manipulated in 3D space. This allows us to cover 100% of the bridge inspection remotely, eliminating any hazardous safety concerns, and generate reports and images that are far superior to typical bridge inspections.
Please feel free to view the below sonar imagery that we have collected. Note that the below images have been reduced in size and quality for a faster browsing experience.

Completing an underwater riverbed scan such as the one above allows us to determine the level of debris buildup and scour around the individual Piers and piles of the bridge. We can also ascertain the volume of scour if detected allowing precise details of fill required.
River and bridge profiles such as the old Grafton bridge above allows us to both visually insect the individual piles, as well as measure accurately the distance between the 'top of deck' and river bed. We can also see quite clearly any scour or buildup of sediment or debris around the structure
Scanning the individual piers and piles of the bridge while completing an underwater bridge inspection also allows us a closer look for cracking, spalling, scour and debris buildup.
Aerial inspections can be carried out on every bridge survey. This enables us to view the bridge from angles that would normally be impossible from boats, scaffold, or rope access. The hi-def, and ultra hi-def cameras on all our UAVs enable us to provide engineers with the highest level of confidence when making assessments on bridge safety.
This is an example of an orthomosaic completed for a bridge. The geo referenced image can be placed onto google maps to provide a very high resolution image, allowing a general visual inspection to be completed. Each of the original images are available to be referenced from the mosaic. Zooming into the image allows the bridge to be seen in detail.
