ROV Innovations teamed up with the Engineers at KBR to offer the Department of Defence a comprehensive inspection above and below the water for their bases in Townsville, Cairns, and Thursday Island. Due to the risk of marine predators such as large crocodiles and sharks, the inspection had previously been conducted by commercial divers within a predator cage, with no underwater video footage. With the addition of the Secuquest VisionClear video optimisation, we had the ability to provide the KBR engineers with underwater high definition footage of each underwater asset at the various locations of the defence bases. Due to the portability of the ROV, we were able to complete the inspections at the three different locations, quicker, easier, and safer than previous inspections with commercial divers. Due to the video enhancement provided by the Secuquest VisionClear, the engineers were able to view each section of the underwater assets real time, as well as having a copy of the recorded video from the ROV for quality assurance and also historical reference. We are looking forward to continued work with KBR as well as the members of the Australian Defence force each year for these annual inspections of their assets.
