The team at ROV Innovations have been busily travelling around the country delivering a wide range of technical expertise to a range of companies including Hydro Electric, Port Authorities, Water Authorities, and Government Departments.... We started in Tasmania where we provided the latest technology in producing an extremely accurate underwater 3D point cloud of an underwater asset - allowing engineers to design replacement parts without having to dewater the area. Not only were we able to produce the 3D structure within a few hours, there was no requirement to have anyone enter the water, providing an extremely safe and reliable method of obtaining vital engineering measurements. We also once again travelled to Christmas Island to perform some deepwater mooring inspections for Christmas Island Port. Flying Fish Cove is an extremely important port for the livelihood of the Island as well as providing valuable natural resources that are shipped from the island. Regular inspections of the mooring system allows all involved the confidence to continue to operate in a remote part of the country which can have some severe weather events. Just outside of Mackay, Dumbleton Weir provides an important resource to the surrounding local area. Using our high definition ROV with sonar and video enhancement, we were able to complete a scheduled visual inspection of the stop logs and plunge pool. This allows the early identification of any issues that may need to be addressed, and ensures that the weir is operating at the desired efficiency. Our time in Maryborough was spent conducting high resolution sonar inspections of two of the bridges over the Mary River. Lamington and Granville Bridges were inspected as well as the surrounding river bed for any signs of scour, debris buildup or any defects in the bridge structure. The bridges were inspected over the course of a couple of days and allowed the level 2 bridge inspectors to visually "see" exactly what was happening in the zero visibility water. Being able to generate an overall picture of the bridge and surrounding river is paramount in giving the inspectors the critical information that they need in assessing the structures. Thanks to all the staff we have had the pleasure to work with over the past few weeks, we have enjoyed working along side you and being able to provide you with our range of specialised underwater inspection and surveying equipment.
